Ingredients
Section Purpose:
This documentation describes what ingredients are, what properties they have, and how to manage their list in the system. This allows users to efficiently browse, add, and edit ingredients used in formulas.
Basic Information
Section titled “Basic Information”Each ingredient has the following properties:
- NDC – ingredient identification code.
- Trade Name – official product name.
- Active – information whether the ingredient is active in the system.
- Manufacturer – ingredient manufacturer name.
- Ingredient Group – main group to which the ingredient belongs.
- Alternative Ingredient Groups – other groups with which the ingredient may be associated.
- (g/ml) – ingredient concentration in grams per milliliter.
- (kcal/ml) – energy value in kilocalories per milliliter.
- Nitrogen (g/ml) – nitrogen content.
- Na, K, Ca, Mg, PO4, Cl, Acetates – content of individual ions.
- Osmolarity (mOsm/ml) – ingredient osmolarity.
- AA/N – amino acid to nitrogen ratio.
- Specific Gravity – ingredient density.
- For Children – information whether the ingredient is intended for children.
- For Adults – information whether the ingredient is intended for adults.
- Default for Group – whether the ingredient is default in its group.
- Default for Group and Manufacturer – whether the ingredient is default for given group and manufacturer.
Import and Export of Ingredients
Section titled “Import and Export of Ingredients”The system enables importing and exporting ingredients in CSV format directly from the ingredient table.
- CSV Import:
- Use the “Import” button above the ingredient table.
- Select a CSV file containing ingredient data according to the required template.
- After confirming the file, new ingredients will be added to the system or updated if they already exist.
- CSV Export:
- Use the “Export” button above the ingredient table.
- The system will generate a CSV file containing the current ingredient list with their properties.
Frequently Asked Questions

Only users with appropriate permissions (e.g., administrator or pharmacist) can manage ingredients.
